Idris Bello @idrisayobello – is a Partner at LoftyInc Allied Partners Limited and also the Chief Innovation Officer of SilverEdge Projects, a technology innovation firm focused on improved service delivery in emerging markets.
A First Class Honours graduate of Computer Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, he holds advanced degrees in computer science, business administration, and global health from the University of Houston, Rice University, and the University of Oxford, UK respectively. Idris spent the greater part of a decade working at Chevron Corporation and ExxonMobil USA, where he led several large upstream technology projects across the USA and Sub-Saharan Africa.
He has worked for employers and clients including Procter & Gamble, University of Houston, Clinton Foundation, Nigeria Private Sector Health Alliance, and the Government of Swaziland.
Listed among CNN’s Top Ten African Technology Voices in 2012 and profiled as The Huffington Post’s “Greatest Person of the Day” in 2011, he has been named a Dell Global Innovation Ambassador, MIT Global Start-up Fellow, StartingBloc Innovation Fellow, Lord Weidenfeld Scholar, Harambe Entrepreneur Fellow and a Nigeria Leadership Initiative Future Leader, part of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Idris is also a co-founder of The Wennovation Hub, an innovation platform that has successfully accelerated the launch of over a dozen start-ups in healthcare, education and e-commerce, creating jobs and raising seed funds locally and internationally. Recently featured in Vanity Fair Magazine’s Spotlight on Africa’s Entrepreneurs, he is also an angel investor in several startups including Andela, Flutterwave, Adient Medical, Hutbay, Nervemobile, FuelMetrics among others.
